San Marzano - Gustarosso

Something we are very proud of is offering San Marzano tomatoes from the star producer Gustarosso, which we select ourselves. Each harvest, we try out the best field and the best picking date, and that's where we get our tomatoes from. In other words, we work our butts off so that you get the best possible tomatoes :)

The tomatoes we chose this year are from a field in the middle of Sarno, and they were harvested on July 27th. The relatively early date came about because it had been warm around Naples, which favors an earlier harvest. On the back of the can, you can see the batch number and our logo, and then you know that the tomatoes were personally selected by us.

About the tomatoes themselves: What we look for are tomatoes with full ripeness but retained acidity - that's it. That's exactly what you get with these San Marzano tomatoes from the farming cooperative Gustarosso. The tomatoes are sweet and flavorful, while also having a certain acidity.
